I read some reviews that the range of the Archer C7 was a lot worse then the range of the older model TL-WR1043ND, but could also depend on a defect.
I want to replace my TL-WR1043ND by another one (maybe Archer C7) with dual band and a wider range. Yes it is possible with a range extender, but want to do it with another router.

Did someone replace the TL-WR1043ND with an Archer C7 and could confirm what the range difference is between the TL-WR1043ND and the Archer C7 (or another Archer)?

No difference in Wi-Fi range of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and 5GHz Wi-Fi range is shorter than 2.4GHz.
If you just need to extend Wi-Fi range, no need to buy a router. Buy a range extender or powerline extender depending on network environment.

Hi,

I agree with M Diamond.
5GHz is only useful to increase the throughput or when there is a lot 2.4GHz signals around you...
