Model: Archer MR505
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.13.0 Build 240110 Rel.60574n(4555)
Best regards.

The first firmware version is installed on my MR505.
I wanted to install the latest firmware from the website using the PC's browser.
After 100%, the error message appears:
The firmware could not be installed, please try again.
After that, I can no longer access the router using the PC's browser and have to restart the MR505.

I disabled the firewall on both the PC and the router.
Unfortunately, that didn't help.

Is the latest firmware OTA available, because I can't find a new version via the TPLINK iPhone APP

Is it possible for you to provide me with a firmware update to switch from DREI to the EU version?

I hope someone can help me.

Best regards, TOM

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

Did you ever notice the country version on the bottom label of the router? What does it say?

If it is not EU version, we can not upgrade to EU firmware version for the router. And that may be the reason why the erorr message pops up.

If you got the router from the ISP, maybe it is a customized model by your ISP and you have to contact them for newer firmware version.

This official page shows the latest firmware version for your reference.

Best regards.

Thanks for the info.
I've spoken to the ISP; the device isn't branded to the provider.
Firmware version:
1.13.0 Build 240110 Rel. 60574n(4555)
Hardware version:
Archer MR505 1.0
Module version:
16121.1009.00.01.02.12
Module serial number:
BPS9QQ02FQ
What information do you need from the sticker on the bottom?

Is there any way to get the correct firmware?
Best regards, TOM

Thank you for your support.

I found a similar issue with an MR600.

TPlink Germany provided a suitable firmware update.

Hello,
Try this method (MR600v2 DREI to EU)
1- Install firmware:
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/beta/2022/202208/20220812/Archer_MR600_V2_220810_DREI_to_EU.zip
2-Install EU firmware:
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2022/202212/20221205/Archer_MR600(EU)_V2_220105.zip
When done, Logon to MR600 and check for updates.

Is it possible that there is also a good solution for the MR505

Best Regards TOM

Hi Tom,

The label says clearly that the version is ATDREI instead of EU, which is what we need to check. Now we can confirm it is a customized model by some local ISPs.

The brand is still from TP-Link, but customized model means there may be some different and special changed according to the ISP's needs, so it is different from common EU version anymore. So If the product was provided by your ISP, please ask them for new firmware. Maybe there is no newer firmware version for this customized model. You may also double-check with local support if the device was not from your ISP.

However, sorry that we have no further suggestions for you here.

Thank you and best regards.
