Hi guys.
Noob here, let me try to explain.
My modem is connected to a 300M Model No. TL-WR1043ND router
when Im wired to this router LAN port, i get 99Mbps, the internet provides 100Mbps, so I take that.

Inside my room I've installed a WDR 4300 to bridge the wifi signal, all set and my PC wired to this WDR4300 gets 40Mbps, which is rather weak, imo.
I've try to use WDR4300 as a "transmitter" connecting it to the modem, but after setting all up, both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz is unstable.
So unstable that the router itself disconnects the signal and even "dies" and needs to "reset".

So I read around that WDR 4300 has issues when "transmitting" from modem.

So questions are:
WDR4300 makes a better "transmitter" than a 300M? Can I get better speed with WDR4300 as a bridge? Have you guys figure out how to make WDR4300 a more stable wired router (transmitter)?

Sorry for this kind of noobish in specific terms.
Thanks in advance.

Tailou

Upgrade the latest firmware first. Your version is too old...
What does "transmitter" mean here? Did you refer to WDS feature or something else?

Hi Vivian, thanks for your reply.
I'll Try to explain better.

Modem with internet provider connected to 300M router WAN port
on this 300M router, i connect my pc through one of the LAN ports and I get 100Mbps

I have a N750 inside my room to receive the wifi signal from the 300M,
and after bridging and connect my pc to its LAN port (to N750), I get 30Mbps.
Even tried to receive the 300M wifi signal directly to my pc and also gets 30Mbps.

I'd tried to use the N750 to connect the modem (use it in the place of the 300M)
but it's unstable, get's disconnected both on 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Will I get a better/faster wifi signal if I successfuly manage to install the N750 to the modem?

is it normal getting 30Mbps from a 300M router's wifi when it's getting full 100Mbps?

Thanks again.

Wi-Fi signal can be improved but the speed cannot.
You didn't mention the Wi-Fi speed connecting to 300M router, did you?
How did test or check the speed?

Hi Vivian
Sorry for my late reply

300M router is receiving at it WAN plug a 100Mbps signal from modem
I ran speedtest from 300M router LAN plug and I got those 100Mbps

300M router WIFI signal is weak, but even if I stay near of it
the wifi signal of the 300M router gives me only 30-40Mbps from speedtest

300M router now is receiving 100Mbps from WAN and transmiting 30Mbps from WIFI... normal?

WDR4300 router wont do any better cause it is very unstable transmitting WIFI signal the same as I described the above 300M router.
It keeps disconnecting and even "lock up", needed to reset and set all up all over again.

Thanks.
