"Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded to a TIM 10G fiber internet plan using XGS-PON technology. I have a TP-Link Archer GE800 router with an SFP+ port, and I'm wondering if it's compatible with XGS-PON. Specifically, I'd like to know:

  • Is the Archer GE800 inherently compatible with XGS-PON?
  • If so, are there any specific SFP+ modules that are known to work reliably with XGS-PON and this router?
  • If direct SFP+ compatibility isn't feasible, would an external ONT (Optical Network Terminal) be the recommended solution?

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!"

Hi@Nioh17,

Thank you for reporting your issue to our community.

It has been confirmed that Archer GE800 is compatible with XGS-PON.

XGS-PON can be implemented through a specific SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) module. Such modules are usually used for ONT (Optical Network Terminal) on the user side, for example, inserting the XGS-PON SFP module into a supported router or switch to provide 10G symmetrical access.
Some users have shared that the module Zaram - ZXOS11NPI is compatible with the Wi-Fi 7 router we have released, which may be helpful to you: Compatible /supported XGS-PON SFP

Of course, if you have other suggestions or feedback, you are welcome to share your experience here.

Thank you @Joseph-TP,

on the tp-link type I saw this product:
DS-PMA-Combo C+
SFP Module XGS-PON & GPON Combo Class C+

Can this one also be compatible?

Hi@Nioh17,

This is an ISP customized module, judging from the specifications, it should be compatible with each other.
