DNS not working on wifi 5GHz
Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.3 Build 20211219 Rel. 67401 (EU)

I have adjusted the dns server on the following page
Network -> Internet -> Advanced (as indicated on the website).

Now the DNS server works on 2.4GHz but not on 5GHz wifi.

I have also adjusted the DNS in the DHCP setting but this does not work either.

Am I missing something or do I need to adjust or configure something somewhere?

Hi@Bas_82,

Here are some suggestions for your issue:

  • Check SSID and password: Make sure the 5GHz SSID name (network name) and password have not been modified by mistake, causing the device to be unable to recognize it.
  • Change Channel: If the selected channel is incompatible in the 5GHz band (such as DFS channels disabled in some countries), the signal may be unavailable. Try to change the channel manually (such as 36, 44, 149, etc.).
  • Change Channel width: Set the bandwidth to 80MHz or automatic (avoid using 160MHz, which may not be supported by some devices).

  • Security protocol: Check the encryption method (such as WPA2/WPA3). Some devices may not be compatible with WPA3. You can temporarily switch back to WPA2 for testing.
  • Update firmware: Make sure the current firmware version is up-to-date. Sometimes the new firmware can solve some problems.
