Model: Archer BE800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.6 Build 20240808 rel.26673(4555)

From what I've been able to find, the "network speed being limitted to 100mbit/s" issue is a known one, but each case was resolved differently or ended with people switching their router...

In my case, the issue can be temporarily fixed by changing the negotiation speed to anything from Auto/2.5Gbit and back to Auto/2.5Gbit. This will last for a day or two before it gets limitted to 100mbit again. This goes both for wired and wireless clients.

I'm using a CAT6 cable and am plugged into the Combo 10Gbit port.

Any ideas on what could be the cause/trigger?

Hi @HowToNut,

May I know:

  • What clients did you use to test?
  • When did the problem start?
  • Every time the speed slowed down, did you test the speed of the front-end ISP modem?

If your network topology diagram is as follows:
ISP modem—BE800—switch—wired clients & wireless clients

Please try different cables, ports, modules to test if it is a hardware problem? Replace with a cable that supports 10G (such as Cat6a/7), and make sure the  SFP+ module is compatible.

Please adjust the placement of the router to reduce heat dissipation and reduce interference from other devices, such as microwave ovens.
