Is my router connected to 5G even though it's not visible?
I have installed an Archer NX200 together with a Poynting XPOL-2-5G roof antenna. In the router's admin interface I have enabled external antennas and selected Network Mode 5G/4G/3G. However, according to both the admin interface and the signal light on the router, I still only get 4G+. When I select Network Mode 5G only, the internet connection disappears.
Nevertheless, the reception has improved radically after I replaced my old router with Archer and replaced my old 4G antenna with my new Poynting 5G. The download speed has now reached up to 129 Mbit/s and upload to 41 Mbit/s, which is what you can expect from 5G? Could it be that I actually have a 5G connection even though the router for some reason interprets it as 4G+? (On the ground level, my mobile phone has a 5G connection, although nowhere near as good as on the roof - the house is in a slump.)
