Hi CS team,

Currently, all my Tapo devices are connected to guest networks using the "Guest Network" feature on my X60.

After switching the main Deco from X60 to BE85, I noticed the "IoT Network" feature on BE85, which seems to be exactly what I need. I proceeded to enable the "IoT Network" feature on the BE85 and turned off the "Guest Network".

SSID, password on IoT Network and Guest Network are the same so they can not enable at the same time.

However, I observed a significant drop in signal coverage, and many of my IoT devices disconnected. It appears that only the BE85 is broadcasting the IoT Network Wi-Fi signal, while the X60 is not. When I re-enabled the Guest Network, everything returned to normal.

Am I understanding this correctly, or could this be a glitch? Is there any documentation regarding the IoT Network feature that mentions compatibility or limitations when using mixed Deco models? I would greatly appreciate your support and guidance on this issue.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi, welcome to the community.

As long as the main Deco supports the IOT network, there will be an option on the Deco APP to enable/disable the IOT Network. However, only the supported models would broadcast an extra IOT SSID like you have observed.

In your case, if you temporarily switch the Deco X60 as the main Deco without disabling the IOT Network first, you might find there is no IOT entrance on the Deco APP, but the previous IOT SSID will still be broadcasted by satellite BE85.

There is a brief introduction about the IOT network, but it hasn't mentioned what would happen in a mixed Deco network.

TP-Link IoT Network

Thank you very much and best regards.
