TP Link BE550 - Blocking Traffic?
TP Link BE550 - Blocking Traffic?
Hi,
I have three BE550's configured in a MESH network supporting circa 60-70 wired & wireless devices at any one time. When I installed the BE550, our house security system (RISCO Cloud) stopped working. The BE550 sits behind a BT SmartHub which we need for the digital voice service and I assumed that the RISCO cloud service no longer liked a Double NAT scenario. However we tested (by connecting a very long ethernet cable) the BT SmartHub directly to the alarm IP module and it worked.
I have since removed the SmartHub from the setup so that the BE550 is now the primary router to which all other points and switches in the property connect to. I first added some port forwarding and then set up DMZ for the alarm IP module and yet it still won't work. Every other cloud based system works (Google Home, Hue, Hive etc).
Is there a way of finding out if the BE550 is somehow blocking traffic? I can't see why, especially with DMZ set but I am now in a protracted argument with the alarm installer who believes it's a network issue. If other services didn't work I might accept it but everything else works perfectly.
Interestingly, when pinging the IP address of the alarm IP module (from within the BE550), the request times out and yet the device is showing in the list of devices 'live' on the network.
I don't know what else to do now!
Many thanks
Andrew

Hi @a.wright,
Did you try to change DNS as I suggested?
Please check if the alarm IP module is in the isolation list:Go to Advanced > Security > Device Isolation. If it is in the list, please delete it.
Please also check if the AP isolation button is enabled:Go to Advanced > Wireless > Additional Settings.

@Joseph-TP
Hi,
- DNS has been changed (no impact from doing so).
- Device Isolation is not enabled at all and even if I turn it on, there is nothing in the list.
- AP Isolation button is not enabled. Not sure why this would impact as the Alarm module is connected via Ethernet?
