Model: TL-WA801ND
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 3.16 v0001.0 Build 200116

I've just installed a new TL-WA801N Access Point and just want to check if my expectations are too high. Comments are welcome on the below information.

I'm "feeding" it on a LAN that's pulling from an FTTP supply that gives 160Mbps down and 98Mbps up. My ISP-supplied router gives the same speed on its own wi-fi. However the TL-WA801N gives a slower speed of ~99Mbps down and ~80Mbps up. Am I expecting too much to think that the TL-WA801N would give the same performance as wired and wireless speeds on my existing kit?

PS: I confirm the model of my access point is TL-WA801N, not ND as above.

These are normal speeds given the fact that this AP has:

Interface

1× 10/100 M Ethernet Port(RJ45)
Support Passive PoE

That's your bottleneck of 100 mbps for download/upload bandwidth.

Hey, thanks for taking time to help me understand. I had (wrongly) presumed the 300 Mbps referred what could be achieved with a fast enough LAN. I'd not recognised that the 10/100 M Ethernet Port was the limiting factor.

I appreciate your time. Again, thank you.
