Is it public IP address obtained in 3G/4G section.
Just try to follow the instruction below to do the settings on the router :
1. Configure a static IP address for the PC need to be waked, for example, IP:192.168.0.130, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
2. go to Forwarding---VirtualServer page, click Add New, then open a port for your PC (192.168.0.130), the port number can be any number between 2001 and 65535.
3. Go to DHCP---Address Reservation page, click Add new , then put the Mac address of your network adapterwhich is Wake on LAN supported into the Mac address box, the IP address is192.168.0.130.
4. For the other settings on your computer like BIOS settings and settings for the software you are using for Wake on LAN, check them by yourself.
For example, if we use Magic Packet :

Hi ADA,
No success :-(
My remote computer have a static IP address!
I did what you said!
I would like to note that my remote system it is:
Laptop connected (wired) to TP-Link Router MR 3420. The router is connected to a 3G modem (usb dongle).
Forget the 2 LAN switchs (which by the way work like a charm even from an android app).
Please help.
Cheers,
paulo

Hi, i have an MR3420 (v140319) and use WOL a lot to wake up my home computer.
Yes, it works fine. All you have to do is:
1. Make sure WOL is enable on your laptop bios.
2. Make sure your laptop is wire connected to MR3420
3. Forward port 7 and port 9 in UDP protocol to your laptop computer's IP.
4. Make sure you have on router configuration on "IP & MAC Binding", your laptop IP/MAC binded.
5. Finally use any WOL app, and configure it to your dns, mac, and port (7 or 9) and voilá!!
Hope it can helps.
Regards

Thanks hasafly!
But, is your router connected to a 3g usb modem (3G USB dongle)? I mean how do you connect to the internet (3G, cable, etc)?
Hope to get it ☺

Sorry for the ignorance...but what should be my dns?
And what WOL app do you recomend?
Do I need to turn off the power in the remote computer to see if this works or there is a way to see if the magic packet arrived there?
Thanks,

You have to configure a Dynamic DNS account. Thats for recognize your Public IP from web.
You can do this on no-ip.com.....
Then configure it on Router option "Dynamic Dns"
For Android i'm using an app called "Wake On Lan"
Yes, turn off the computer....that's the goals of wol...is turn it back on when you need it.

Done :-)
I needed to update the firmware!!!
Ok, the DDNS is working now, after the fw update!
But the WoL it is not working :-(.
I could not WoL my computer after the shutdown!
What do you think could it be? Firewall...? Any settings in the router?
Thanks.
