Hi

I have a question about whether I am expecting too much with regard to streaming HD over my network which I am trying to set up.

System is :

- a TP Link Wireless 300mbps router (TD-W8970)
- a TP Link 300mbps powerline extender (TL-WPA4220KIT)
- a WD MyBook live
- a ~ 17mbps average download broadband speed
- various devices in lounge (Kindle PS3, Sony Bravia , laptop) to access the MyBook stuff

All is fine for music and pictures but the home videos are a problem.

I recognise server issues and compatability.

I am trying to play AVHCD (.MTS ) HD movie files of around 300 mb to 500mb size on the Sony via MyBook. The Sony tv will play AVCHD.

Even with the powerline Ethernet cable connected to my TV the picture and sound is not smooth. Albeit a huge amount better than the stuttering mess via wifi and no powerline extender.

Am I expecting too much ? Shoulkd I just give uip and convert all these 100's of files to something smaller? :-(

Cheers for views
jon

Well, maybe you can try to play some low resolution video.
