We're pleased to offer a new pre-release version 1.1.1 Build 20250306 for Archer BE550 for testing in your real network. This update aims to enhance overall system stability and address some issues reported by our users. We strongly recommend upgrading to this version to improve your experience.

 

Modifications:

  • Optimized the overall system stability and performance.
  • Fixed an issue that certain 10/100Mbps devices cannot access the internet via the 2.5G LAN ports.
  • Fixed the bug that devices cannot access the internet when added to the WireGuard VPN Client List.

 

Note: This pre-release version can be downgraded to the previous official version.

 

Firmware Download:

Before the Upgrade

(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!

(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.

(3) This pre-release firmware for Archer BE550 V1 can be applied to all versions (EU/US/CA/AU/SG/etc.).

(4) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

I have just installed the update and will test it and see if I notice any errors and also if my reported bugs (loss of connection to the router when manually sending the system log and lossing display of the data overview in the Tether app when separating the frequencies in the WLAN schedule) have been resolved.

 

 

Update:

 

The bug with manually sending the system log seems to still be there. That means that when I send the system log to my email address by clicking on the button under System -> System Log, my PC is disconnected from the router or the Archer BE550 appears to restart, but you can't see this on the router itself. The BE550's wireless networks disappear and the LAN connection is disconnected. After about 30 to 60 seconds the router is ready for use again and is working.

 

I will therefore switch back to the official firmware version. I'm sorry.

Ah Kevin ... need to remove BE550 from easy mesh to manually upgrade to this firmware ... is there any other chance to manual update without removing the router from easy mesh setup ???

If the satellite BE550 has been updated to the official 1.1.1 Build 20241230 version, you should be able to upgrade its firmware directly by logging to its management page:

 

BTW, you can find the IP address of the satellite BE550 on the main BE550's page.

Done and solved ...Confirming Salus IT-500 gateway works with this firmware.

Led is green and the app recognizes the remote gateway.

 

interestingly in the webui of router i cannot see the gateway in the wired connection area but the gateway is green and working just fine.

  @Kevin_Z Not sure where my issues lies. I have the BE800 as my main router and the BE550 with this firmware as a mesh. My iPhone 16 Pro Max will sometimes drop wifi when moving between routers I believe.

 

I think I was on the dedicated 6ghz band and was on a facetime audio call but didnt confirm. MLO is off. I noticed the wifi signal disappeared and it went on cellular

Thank you for the Firmware update.
Indeed, my problem with NordVPN has been solved and I can now browse without problems with the VPN activated.
What has not been solved is that randomly, every two or three days, the Router loses WIFI and has to be restarted.
I have it programmed to restart every day at 01:00 AM, precisely to try to alleviate this problem, but some days, around 11:00 AM approximately, the Wifi disappears, although wired devices continue browsing without problem.

iPhone 16 Pro max is still continually dropping from wifi every once and awhile. Its on the 6ghz SSID and while using the phone I see it just go to 5G for a bit and reconnecting automatically after about 1 min As my previous comment not sure if its connected to the BE550 or my BE800 but didnt really notice this until updating to the latest BE550 beta
