Model: TL-WPA8635P KIT
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

Hello everyone,

I am trying to improve my wifi signal on my top floor with a powerline setup including one adapter and two extenders. I first bought the TL-WPA8635P KIT and placed the included extender in my bedroom. This one works fine and provides a great and stable connection. I've noticed that the wifi reception wasn't great in my home-office room though, so i decided to buy another extender (also a TL-WPA8635P). I paired the second extender to the adapter, but connection has a terrible download speed. I've been trying to pinpoint to cause of this problem but i can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

I was wondering if this was related to the electrical infrastructure of my office room. I've tried placing the first extender in the exact same outlet in my office, but it keeps working great with a high and stable download speed, so i guess the electrical wiring has nothing to do with it. When i move the second extender to the bedroom it still performs poorly, so it must have something to do with the extender itself? I've tried resetting and pairing the extenders, but nothing seems to fix this problem.

After a closer inspection, i've noticed a difference between the included extender and the second one. I'm located in Belgium and the adapter and extender from the kit are the french (FR) version, while the second extender that i bought is a dutch (BE) version. Could this be the cause?

Thanks for the advice!

Hi  @TimCr1989,

If you remove the original extender and use only the original adapter and (BE) version extender, will the same problem occur?

If so, it is probably caused by different power supply specifications in different countries. It is recommended that you consider replacing the same version of extender first.

Hi  @Joseph-TP

If I only use the BE extender the problem indeed still remains. I've tried every possible scenario I can think of, so I'm also pretty conviced the problem lies within the extender itself.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi@TimCr1989,

If so, there seems to be a problem with the BE version of the extender. Please return it and exchange it for the FR version.
