AX 3000, fails to recognize ONT Device
Thursday
Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3

Hi

I am upgrading from a Archer C60 to a Archer AX3000. the c60 is connected to my ONT device and set to use dynamic IP and it works perfectly as a router.

when i replace it with the AX3000, the AX3000 says internet port disconnected. i plug the same network cable in as was used in the c60.

as a test, i plugged the ax3000's Wan cable into the LAN port of the C60, and the AX3000 picks up a connection and can be setup and works as a secondary device. so the physical WAN port is working. and the cables are working.

but the moment i plug it into the ONT as my primary router, its as if it doesnt register that there is a network cable or device on the other end of the WAN cable.

Any Ideas or suggestions? i have updated the firmware, did multiple resets and restarted every device with no luck. please help..

Use another ethernet cable (CAT5E or above) between ONT and AX3000. Sometimes the cable can casue such an issue.

Can you do the following test:

Connect AX3000 WAN port to Archer C60 LAN port and check its status.

Most probably there's some kind of incompatibility between the ONT port and the AX3000 WAN port.

Your best bet is to contact your local support to be advised.

Edit: I missed that you've already have done this test and the AX3000 WAN port is working fine when connected to C60 LAN port (that's from your initial post).

@terziyski I did that. the router doesnt get an IP when in router mode, but in AP mode it does.

I am thinking it is possibly needing to be replaced by supplier. but it was bought ages ago.
