Hello TP-Link Team,
I’d like to request a firmware update for the Archer BE230 that includes WISP mode and TR-069/CWMP support. These features would significantly enhance the router's usability for both individual users and ISPs.
Feature Request Details:
-
WISP Mode (Wireless ISP Mode)
- Many TP-Link routers already support WISP mode, which allows the router to connect to an upstream Wi-Fi network as a WAN source while providing NAT and DHCP for local clients.
- This feature is crucial for users in areas where wired broadband isn’t available and would make the BE230 a more flexible solution.
-
TR-069/CWMP Support (ISP Remote Management)
- ISPs require TR-069 (CPE WAN Management Protocol) for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and firmware updates.
- Adding this functionality would make the BE230 more attractive for service providers, improving network reliability and support efficiency.
Why This Matters:
- Enhanced ISP Adoption: The addition of TR-069/CWMP would make the BE230 a strong choice for ISPs looking to deploy Wi-Fi 7 solutions with centralized management.
- Increased Versatility: WISP mode would enable users in rural or urban settings to utilize the BE230 with wireless backhaul options.
- Future-Proofing: As Wi-Fi 7 adoption grows, having these features ensures the BE230 remains competitive in both consumer and ISP markets.
Request for Consideration:
Would TP-Link consider adding these features in a future firmware update? If there are any technical limitations or alternative solutions available, I’d appreciate any insights.
Looking forward to your response. Thanks for your time and support!
Best regards
