Before the Upgrade

(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!

(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.

(3) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

(4) This pre-release firmware for Archer BE800 V1 can be applied to all versions (EU/US/CA/AU/SG/etc.).

(5) To use the new 3-band MLO connection, both the router and client device must support Wi-Fi 7 and 3-band MLO. Please note that most Wi-Fi 7 smartphones and network adapters may only support 2.4GHz + 5GHz or 2.4GHz + 6GHz when connecting to the MLO Network.

@NPGrey Not yet. That optimization will be reviewed thoroughly via the firmware code and may be included in future updates.

  @Kevin_Z Will try the upgrade later. Can you tell what are the main differences between this new version and the previous pre-release firmware? Something special to check or verify?

  @Kevin_Z

Thank for the update. It works fine for me.
The reboot option for satellite is a good idea, but not supported by Re800be, which share the same form factor ( an hardware ?) with BE 800. This extender hadn't have any update yet, is it on the way?

bonus question: is it a way to show the hour on the LCD front panel of the BE800?

  @Kevin_Z

Noticed that my MLO network won't interact with my regular 2.4/5G network. My phone is on the MLO and my security cameras are on my 2.4/5G. If I pull up my cameras on my phone they won't load but if I switch my phone over to the 2.4/5G network they will. On the last beta they worked fine.

Fixed. I had to re-setup my RE550. It was working fine but for some reason just didn't want my other network to access it.

  @Kevin_Z I installed the new update this morning. I was happy to know that the router knew that there was an update and I didn't have to download it! I've not experienced any issues as of yet.

@Kevin_Z  Great update! EasyMesh support in AP mode and DoH/DoT security are solid additions. Excited to test the 3-band MLO connection for better performance!

  @Kevin_Z

The 1.2.1 pre release seems to be running smoothly and performantly, but purely cosmetically (see image below), the "CAMFlur" is displayed incorrectly by the connection, because it is connected via cable to the WLAN satellite (RE6000XD in the mesh) on LAN1.

@memzila In addition to the new features listed, this firmware includes significant wireless driver enhancements that improve system stability and compatibility, addressing performance issues related to reboots and wireless connectivity.

I remember your concerns about managing the satellite BE800. With this new 1.2.1 version, you can now reboot the satellite, upgrade its firmware, and control its LED.

This update should also resolve the IP renewal issue you reported for the satellite unit. You can disable the smart DHCP feature on its management page to prevent this.
