Firmware Download
Before the Upgrade
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!
(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.
(3) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.
(4) This pre-release firmware for Archer BE800 V1 can be applied to all versions (EU/US/CA/AU/SG/etc.).
(5) To use the new 3-band MLO connection, both the router and client device must support Wi-Fi 7 and 3-band MLO. Please note that most Wi-Fi 7 smartphones and network adapters may only support 2.4GHz + 5GHz or 2.4GHz + 6GHz when connecting to the MLO Network.

Would you like to investigate this issue further with our support engineers? If you're willing to follow it up, I will escalate the case via email.
Additionally, can I check again how are the BE800 and 2*BE550s connected? Is it like the below topo:
ISP or modem/gateway router --- BE800 (in AP Mode) ))) ((( BE550
(((BE550
Are there any other EasyMesh routers or extenders?

The BE800 (configured as AP) is right behind the internet router --- both BE550 are connected using an ethernet cable directly from BE800 to BE550 (2.5 GB) configured as Satelite (the 2nd BE550 is only online if I am working in HomeOffice :-).
There is one EasyMesh Repeater RE700X connected both 2.4/5Ghz Wifi to BE800.
It would be really great opening a support case to analyze the issue.

Since the 1.2.1 upgrade i have had continual wifi disconnection issues on devices all over the house. The hard line connection remains stable even when thr wifi is not.
Wifi 7 was great before thr upgrade, now it struggles to get above 700mbps upload when it was st 1600 before. Download speeds remain stable.
MLO- I don't know why this is even an option on this router. It has never worked correctly and consistently has speeds that are half of what I get on the wifi 7 band even when standing 2ft from the router.
I sure hope a firmware upgrade to fix these issues is going to be released soon. We are pretty screwed since we cannot downgrade from 1.2.1, which I would go back if I could. This latest firmware did more harm than good. I hope the next firmware doesn't take another 6 months!
Hello @jwagman1, I want to check if the reported disconnection issue has been resolved.
If the issue persists and you would like to downgrade to the previous 1.1.6 version, I will send you a beta firmware via email to guide you to downgrade it. Please check your registered email and let me know how it works. Thanks.

Hi @Kevin_Z,
I have exactly the same problem as the one described by jwagman1.
I have two BE800s, each firmware version is v1.2.1 and v1.1.6.
Only BE800 with v1.2.1 has disconnection and low throughput issue, there was no issue before upgrade the firmware.
As far as I know, I can't downgrade back v1.1.6, but no longer use with this firmware issue.
Is there really no other way to downgrade the FW version?
Thanks.
Hello @Postponed1, has the reported disconnection issue been resolved?
Since I haven't received a response from you, if you would like to downgrade to the previous 1.1.6 version, I will send you a beta firmware via email to guide you to downgrade it. Please check your registered email and let me know how it works. Thanks.

@Kevin_Z, I successfully downgraded my BE800 FW version by referring to your comment.
Firmware Version: 1.1.6 Build 20240808 rel.26673(5553)
Now all the issues are gone.
I hope to the release of a new v1.2 FW that solves the issues.
Many thanks.

Archer BE800—especially with the new features packed into this firmware.
If you're thinking about upgrading, the boost in wireless driver performance and the addition of 3-band MLO for Wi-Fi 7 is pretty exciting. Just keep in mind that both your router and client device need to support full tri-band MLO to actually benefit from it. Most current Wi-Fi 7 devices still only handle two bands.
The EasyMesh updates are great too, especially the support in AP mode. Now you can build a mesh setup without needing the BE800 as the main router, which gives way more flexibility. The addition of a WebUI for satellite devices is super helpful too—basic controls without jumping through hoops.
Also loved seeing DoH and DoT support being added. Privacy-focused features like those are something I always look for, and it’s nice to see them becoming standard on high-end hardware.
Just one heads-up though: once you upgrade to this 1.2.x firmware, there’s no going back to 1.1.x. So definitely back up your config file before updating.
Let me know if you’re thinking of making the switch. I’d love to hear how it performs in your setup!
