Dear tp-link and anyone

 

From Malaysia

I'm using MR500 router with 5G sim card (local telco YES) for home internet. Can surf internet and the speed okay.

My MR500 is connected to 10+ smart devices and laptop and mobile phone.

However, it disconnects every day (at least once) and I have to reboot it every time, which is troublesome.

When checked the router system log (web UI), I often see "4G: error: The PS registration state parse error." and "4G: ERROR: unsupport PLMN, cannot find the section."

I've checked with my telco and the signal looks okay and no issue.

contacted tp-link support but no solution and the issue remains unresolved.

Already set reboot daily, separate 2.4G & 5G connection, manual band selection, but not getting better.

Wonder changing to a new MR500 device (it's under warranty) will solve the issue.

What is wrong? How can I fix it? any other setting or firmware update can help fix it?

Please help. Thank you.

Hi, welcome to our community.

For the unstable connection, you may follow this guide to troubleshoot:
TP-Link LTE Router keeps disconnecting

If it does not help, please share the detailed results and provide the following information for further investigation:

1. When the issue happens again, please login the web interface, share with us screenshots of Advanced->Status page, Advanced->Network->Internet page.

2. When the issue happens again, please go to Advanced->System Tools->System Log page and save a log file(don't restart the router, or previous logs will be cleared).

when i came home it was already disconnected. guess around the afternoon.

manage to get the status and system log (somehow copy&paste here cannot save).

pls find the attached.

According to the information you provided, the sim card can not detected properly.

thanks.

probably my last sim card from last telco (YES) was not compatible. And only got 4G LTE.

The system log showed ERROR messages. 

 

I've changed to new sim card from another telco (Maxis) and can get 4G+ LTE

Now the system log shows no ERROR message.

at least no disconnection for the last 24 Hour and so. which is great.

 

But the internet speed becomes relatively slow and fluctuate. 

signal strength: 75% or 100% (2 or 3 bars).

connection info: the Ethernet 1000Mbp & wifi5 5GHz is 863Mbp.

tried changing router location.

How can improve the internet speed?
