Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20250115 Rel. 9746

Hi,

I have a BE65 which is behind a Router/Modem ARRIS TG3442.

Currently connected via one of the LAN ports and ARRIS setup in normal DHCP mode and all WiFi OFF and I have a STATIC IP address from my ISP.

I understood that it is better to set the ARRIS Modem/Router in BRIDGE mode. I also want to do some port forwarding and i cannot do that now in the current configuration it seems.

However if I setup in Bridge mode, what setting do I need to use on the DECO BE65? Gateway, DNS, IP Address, Subnet, DNS etc. for it to work?

Thank you for some help/support.

D.

@Dicky787 You could rather change the operation mode of the Deco to "Access Point".

@yves_b Well TP-link advices to set the router in Bridge mode...

Q3: Do I need to set up my existing router to bridge mode if my router is a combination of modem & router?

Deco works well with a modem router, however, it’s suggested to configure the modem router in bridge mode to avoid some technical problems, such as double NAT.

@Dicky787 The same problems can be avoided by configuring the Deco in AP mode.
