Good morning,

I purchased 3 DECO S1900 to extend my Wi-Fi coverage.

I set them up as Access Points connected to my home router.
One DECO is directly wired to the router, while the other two are placed on the lower and upper floors.
The DECO app shows that the signal between the units is very strong and optimal.

However, I have a problem.
The browsing speed is close to the router’s speed, but the ping is terrible... It stays around 20ms but spikes to 1800ms every 4-5 seconds.
If I disconnect the DECOs and connect directly to the router, the ping remains stable at 20ms.

When I connect the DECOs, they work fine for about 5 minutes, then the ping issues start.

What should I do?
Is there a solution, or should I return them?

Can I have the model number of the device that constantly had the ping spike issue?

Have you tested the Ethernet ping connection from S1900? Did it behave similarly?

 

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Please disable "Fast roaming" and "Beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

2. Disable "Mesh Technology" for this device on the Deco APP.
