I have a problem with my extender where the internet in the room is going 200+mbs but the extender only outputs 20-30 mbs and sometimes it slows down the original internet where i cant acces any site on the original internet but only on the extender and when i unplug it it goes back to normal is there any fix for it? Becouse i tought that it would output the speed that was in the room not 1/10th of it

Try changing the wireless channel of your main router - there could be a lot of wireless interference around you.
An apps like InnSSIDer or WI-Fi Analyzer can show you the least congested channel around you.
Also an appliances like MWO and some other could cause a wireless interference.
I see that you're with the latest FW for this RE model, which resolves this issue, similar to what you've described.

If you're using the RE in Range Extender mode here's a guide on how to place it for optimal reception and performance.
In general wireless cnnection is a half-duplex technology, so you could expect no more than half of the source bandwidth when using a RE.
If you're using the TL-WA850RE in AP mode, again you could expect no more than 100 mbps because it's its maximm ethernet port speed.

I have it in a RE mode but its not outputing half the internet speed that its receaving but its outputting 1/10th of the speed that its receaving and as I said it sometimes makes the orginal wifi network completely unusable

@terziyski I have updated the software a few days ago and since then it seems like the problem is fixed but the speed stayed the same at 1/10th of the speed in the room
