Massive Ping spikes every 10 to 15 seconds
I have done and read just about everything, I am very frustrated.
I have tried multiple efforts to get this system to work, I have tested this with multiple devices, even building a linux machine so that I can ping and graph multiple IP addresses at the same time. I live in a remote area, I dont even see another network using a network sniffer. The Deco X50 3pack is the only wireless system in the house there should be no interference. I have had 2 devices in the same room one plugged in and one wireless pinging at the same time, the physical network averages around 5-10 ping to the first hop after my router. The wireless device averages 20 ms however every 15 to 20 seconds there is a massive ping spike anywhere from 150ms to 300ms.
Things I have tried
1. Multiple devices while physically connected and pinging from another device. I am positive that it is the Deco Wireless exactly the same symptoms for all the devices and its reasonably regular.
2. I have turned of Mesh, Beam forming and all the other suggested tools one at a time, Beam Forming did help a little it made the regular traffic better (lower ping)
3. I have changed the 5gb channel width, 80 seems to have improved things a little. (may be i am just hopeful :))
4 I have prioritized traffice with QOS, and removed all other devices so just the two laptops and the tablet.
5. I have gone through every setting on the deco and still have not found anything that works.
6. I have run the duel ping for hours and it is consistently there
7. I have the router rebooting every night
The only thing I have not tried is disabling the 2.4ghz wireless. I feel that this thing should work properly with it.
I bought this system because I wanted better connectivity, which I do get (coverage is great) but the ping spikes are killing me. I work on video conference a lot and it is really noticeable I have to turn my video off or plug into the wired network.
