Hello everyone,

I have two WAN connections: one via a Line-of-Sight (LOS) access point (high speed) and the other through an LTE modem (normal speed, but with a data cap). I primarily use the LOS connection for internet access, but due to occasional service interruptions, I keep the LTE modem as a backup. My setup includes an Archer A6 AC1200 (connected to the LOS AP) and six RE305 range extenders, all of which are working well.

My question is:

  1. Is it possible to configure the Archer A6 to act as a load balancer or automatically switch to the backup line (LTE modem) if there's an issue with the main LOS connection?
  2. Alternatively, can I set up MAC-based forwarding so that specific devices (e.g., work computers) always connect through the LTE modem, while others (e.g., TVs, phones, and smart devices) use the LOS AP?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

BR,
Tarkan

Home grade routers like Archer A6 don't support dual WAN connection.

If you want to use such feature, you have to consider business grade router like one of these.
