Double NAT Issues
Hi
I Have a EE Smart Hub and I have a TP LINK AX5400 (Archer AX72) connected to it. My wireless is off on the EE hub as I don't use it as it wasn't strong enough. Issue is now I can't join any XBOX Party chats as it keeps giving me a double NAT issues
Is there a way to fix this issue or get around it ask really don't want my XBOX being connected directly to my EE Hub as I do use a VPN on it to join US gaming servers. I have read about bridge modes etc but unsure on this?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks :)

Hi,
I'm guessing your using the ax72 as a router and not just as a AP,
if so have you turned off the dhcp settings on the ee router as i beleive this could cause a double NAT?
just putting this out there but depending what connection to your property you have,
you could skip the ee router all together.
Just had a flick through ee website
https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/using-and-configuring-a-third-party-router
and they say you can use own router ( ax72)
Gives you the info you could need for the tp link router to get connected.
I'm with bt fttp ( ee also part of bt)and ive ditched the bt router and im also using Ax72).

@Basboi85 Hey!
Yeah I have a TP Link AX5400 Wi-Fi 6 Router
I'll give that a go on the EE router. I have 300mb BB at home... but its copper to the house still which is annoying, hence having to do this setup. Its annoying as the only issue is the XBOX, eveything else is fine, including my PS5 which is connected exactly the same way.
Thanks :)

Hopefully your able to be moved over to fttp soon, supposedly there's a deadline to have everyone moved over to fttp but you know how the gov is setting deadlines and actually reaching them,
but on another note 300 is pretty decent for copper,
When I was on copper best I could get was 25mb but was averaging 15mb most days amd since moving over to fttp It's been night amd day in terms of speed and ive had no downtime.
I believe it was my kids xbox kept throwing a tantrum with double nat and I think i turned off the dhcp and wifi settings on the isp router and just run the tp link router as the main when I first started using my own,

Yeah its a good speed, though I'm kinda stuck with EE now as the 300 i get, no one offers now as its "old tech". If i switched provider or even a new deal with EE I'd only get 70mb.. go figure lol! I hope to get fulkl fibre soon... but like you said you know govs and target ha!
Yeah its just my XBOX.. I'll give that a go today when I've finished work and see what happens, if it breaks other things i can always turn it back on haha! Thank you!
