Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer BE230(EU)_V1_1.1.2 Build 20241125

Hi. I have setup my router including IPV6.
IPV6 address is obtained thru common Ppoe connection with Ipv4.

Using Slaac+stateless dhcp the router at start correctly does not send DNS (IPV6) info.

But after some time or a day suddenly my PC gets IPV6 DNS info from router.
I tried but cannot find the reason this suddenly happens.

My IPV4 DNS is DoH (cloudflare).
Any ideas this is happening ?

If there a way to prevent IPV6 DNS advertising ? (and using only DoH).

My connection is PpoE IPV4+IPV6 and ultimately i want all my DNS traffic (IPV4+IPV6) go thru DoH or DoT, something seems impossible atm.

IPV6 Setup (DNS is Quad9s)

Windows 11 PC

Hi  @KostasLar,

Sorry for the late reply.

Regarding your feedback, I have reported it to the relevant department for demand assessment. If it passes the assessment, we will improve this function in future firmware updates.

I'm moving this conversation into the ‘Feature Request (Routers)' area for better visibility.

Feel free to let us know of any other feature requests you may have, we’d be happy to send them up for you.

From the information you provided, your configuration meets the requirements of Case 2: IPv4 Connection Type is “PPPoE”, which is of How to set up an IPv6 Internet connection on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers

The default method for obtaining the DNS address is 'get dynamically from ISP'. You chose to enter it manually. Is this information provided by the ISP?

  @Joseph-TP

Yes. My configuration is case 2. I have one account for IPV4/IPV6 (Share the Same PPPoE Session with IPv4 is checked).

Yes, i want to use my DNS and not ones from ISP. (unstable and unsecure).

The problem is, if i am corect, Stateless DHCP should not advertise routers (IPV6) DNS (SLAAC does not provide DNS information) and connected devices should use routers (IPV4/ 192.168.0.1) which would ultimately drive my DNS queries thru DoT/DoH DNS servers i entered.

This points the problem that routers SLAAC+Stateless DHCP option is not working as i should.

I had anothers makers router before installing TP-Link Archer BE230, which this option worked properly i.e not adverising IPV6 DNS info.
