Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)

Recently, my C6 started to drop internet connection for some devices. I noticed it first on my Android phone. While I was connected to the 5Ghz network, I would suddenly find that there's no internet, even that the network is connected. If I disconnect and connect again my Android phone will show "Connected to network. Can't provide internet". If I switch to my 2Ghz network, I have internet. Only way around it was to restart the router. It happened for my laptop as well. Now it is happening to my PlayStation which is connected through cable. Suddenly the internet will stop working and when I attemp to re-connect again it fails the tests. I have then to switch to Wi-Fi, which could work for another while then it will as well stop working and then neither cable or Wi-Fi works and I have to restart the router.

I was running on 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555) until about 2-3 months ago then I upgraded to latest firmware. Yesterday I thought reverting to previous firmware build may help but it didn't.

Did anyone else ever experience a problem like this? and do anyone know of a tool that I could use to collect useful information while this issue is happening?

Thank you

Hi  @menshawy,

May I know what is firmware of your router now?

There are a few different cases related with unstable connection, including WAN connection unstable and wireless client devices unstable.
For WAN connection unstable (Router Internet LED turns red/orange occasionally):
    1) Connect a PC directly into your modem to verify if your ISP Internet is stable.
    2) Make sure the Ethernet cable between your modem and the Router is connected properly, replaced old cables with new ones.
    3) Change the DNS Server of the Router, login the web management interface of the Router, go to Advanced > Network > Internet > Advanced Settings, change the two DNS Servers into 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8How to Change the DNS servers on the wireless router and DSL modem router (New UI)?
    4) Go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update to upgrade the firmware of the Router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers?
For wireless client devices unstable:
    1) Make sure the Router is properly placed, it should be put in open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf.
    2) Login the web management interface of the Router, go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings, change the wireless channel into another one.
    3) For 2.4GHz wireless client devices, adjust 2.4GHz channel width into 20MHz, for 5G wireless client devices, adjust 5GHz channel width into 80MHz or 40MHz to avoid interference.

Hi  @Koushik7788

May I know what is hardware and firmware version of your router now? How to find the hardware and firmware version of my TP-Link device

For unstable connection, you can also try the suggestion for what I have sent to menshawy

Hi  @Joseph-TP

My current firmware is 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555).

I don't think the problem is with WAN because, as I mentioned, it happens to certain devices randomly, while others remain connected with no issues.

The LEDs do not turn off or change color when the issue happens.

I upgraded firmware about 2 months ago then later on, I started encountering this issue. Two days ago, I reverted to previous firmware build (the one I'm currently on) but again I encountered the issue.

The issue is not happening with WiFi only. It happens to devices connected through cable as well.
