Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20241009 Rel. 76236

I have had 3 Deco X20 units set up and working fine for months but in the last week on 2 occassions the 2nd ethernet port on my main unit has seemed to stop working. I have the setup as per the image below where the modem connects to my main deco and then to a switch which is connected to a number of things including my 2 other Deco units.

Deco setup with network switch

All of the things I have connected over ethernet stop working at once, so the backhaul on both other Deco units fail and are too far away to reliably keep using wifi to connect, smart heating and lighting controls go down access to my NAS is down and the network ports throughout my house are not usable. I have tried connecting directly to the unit rather than using the switch to see if that was the where the issue was but get no connection and have swapped out the cat 6 cable from the Deco to the switch and confirmed that was not the issue so the source seems to be the Deco's 2nd Ethernet port.

I have seen some people post similar issues but only mention the ethernet backhaul not working, but with all ethernet connections going down as a result of the issue it is causing me a lot of problems, is there a solution or something I am missing and why has this only happened now after months of working without issue.

quick update to this I have swapped the main deco unit for one of the others and set it as the main and seem to be having the same issue so it must be a setting or firmware issue

Connect all three Deco in daisy chain mode, using Ethernet cables that connect Satellite Decos to the switch:

If Satellite Deco can't establish Ethernet link to Main Deco (and to be sure, then try different Ethernet cables) then you with 99% confidence have and issue with the second port of Main Deco.

If Satellite can connect to Main Deco by Ethernet backahul, Main Deco Ethernet port is good.

@Alexandre. Hi I haven't done that but swapping the main unit for one of the others and asssigning it as the main one makes me think it likely isn't an issue with the port but a setting or firmware issue

Check if IPTV enabled accidentally, and disable it if it is: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2421/

Enabling IPTV is the only way to disable second Ethernet port on Main Deco I can think of.

IPTV isn't on checked this earlier and was going to turn it on and off but turning it on takes a few steps so didn't even try that as thought it was so unlikely.

Well, maybe you should try daisy chain I suggested. If that gets you Ethernet backhaul, it is not firmware or configuration setting, the focus of investigation should shift to switch and Ethernet cable connecting Main Deco to switch.
