Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20241125 rel.12918(4555)

Hello,

After the Christmass, I switched to the newly bought Archer BE230. I was previously using TP Link Archer C6 with DHCP enabled.

On the old TP Link Archer C6, IPs were assigned via DHCP, matching MAC address of the certain computer / NAS / IP camera (etc.)

After switching to the new Archer BE230, I manually copied and pasted all the IPs & MAC addresses from the old Archer C6 model and added them to the DHCP list. You can see an example here:

The problem is, that even I set the MAC&IP to the DHCP, the assigning to the MAC address doesn't work, and my devices very often connect to the different IP addresses within the network.

(Yes, the android device, RE200 device and C211 have assigned completely different IPs)

Some of the devices are capable of getting assigned to the DHCP right away, but they are mostly wired connections. But as for wireless connection, I got this problem.

I have tried to set static IP's into the devices where I can do it, but there are several ones that either I can't set manually IP addresses, or DHCP doesn't work, even if the device is connected to the network.

Today I have uploaded the latest firmware (1.1.2 Build 20241125 rel.12918(4555)) but this didn't solve the issue. I am thinking that I am doing something wrong, but this worked on an old TP Link Archer C6 fine.

Thank you for your help and suggestions in advance.

What's your BE3600 DHCP pool range ?

Make sure when you set up DHCP Address Reservation the IP addresses you use are in the DHCP pool range.

Hello, my IP adress range is between 192.168.0.49 to 192.168.0.254.

All the devices are within this range, so It probably wont be this. But thank you anyway.

The other thing that comes in my mind is that some of your devices may use a randomized MAC addresses - details.

If you have only BE3600 DHCP server active on your network and you've set up everything correct, this could be due to a FW implementation issue.

@terziyski hello, I have checked that before, but unfortunately that is not the solution, because my devices have static stable MAC addresses... even when this static MAC address is assigned to the DHCP, the router assignes them new IP ignoring DHCP completly.

Hi, welcome to our community.

May I confirm how many wireless devices do you have? Are all of them connected to the main network?

It is suggested to remove all the address reservation settings and try IP&MAC Binding for your wireless devices following this guide.

  @Marvin_S

Hello, at this moment it is about 25-30 devices, 10 of them via LAN. All of them are on the one IP range 192.168.0.49-192.168.0.254.

I have a huge problem with TP Link devices, as they are unable to have assigned IP, mainly TAPO P110 and Tapo Cameras C211. Since there is no option to set IP manually, I was relaying on DHCP.

After your post, I have tried to remove all assigns from DHCP and allowed IP&MAC Binding with entries. Unfortunately, this didn't solve my problem; simply if the device is unable to have a static IP (which is not assigned via DHCP) I am unable to resolve the issue.

I am regretting buying the BE3600, because it is obviously buggy....

EDIT: Obviously the main problem are the devices, manufactured mainly by TP-Link: 3x TAPO P110, 3x TAPO C211 and a LG Fridge (I know, that it is not manufactured by TP Link, just mentioning). This is a problem for me, since TAPO Cameras should have assigned static ip, due to their connection to NAS Surv. app.

Update 08.01.2025 - I gave up. I wrote a ticket to the seller and returned the router for further examination. I have tried every possible scenario, but unfortunately the DHCP is not working, either MAC&IP binding. I just lost a lot of my nerves because of this bad router...
