Slow network connection when connected directly to the back of network switch
Hi - my first post. Ive just purchased a BE550 which for the most part is working fine. Firmware is up to date. One of the reason for this purchase was the internal 2.5gb network switch. plugged into this ive got a headless proxmox server (a compact Dell Precision) 12th gen i9 with a usb c 2.5gb network adapter plugged into it. Previously this was plugged into a zycel 12port 1/2.5/10g switch which was working fine. Since its been plugged into this router the network access to it is very slow...i would say 10meg speeds. Has anyone else had this?
This is the adapter that im using....

If you can test it, what is the speed if you connect the Zyxel switch between the BE550 and the DELL 3260?
And which link speed is displayed in the web interface of the BE550 to to the adapter?

Looking at the BE web interface it does say its connected at 2.5gb.
Its a bit difficult to recable it as id knock off the router. As theyre cheap ive ordered a different manufacturer of usb dongle to see if a possible chipset change cures the problem.

@ComfySofa Just to add to this ive just tried copying a 5gb iso from a VM on the Proxmox server (Win11 24H2) with all drivers installed - I could barely get a 1meg transfer rate, to another VM on another proxmox server (an old optiplex 7th gen i7). I then uploaded the same iso to the optiplex 's proxmox host and transfered the file in about 30 seconds or so (1gb line) so there is definately something up....

@ComfySofa It looks very similar issue to mine.
I found "partly" fix look in my thread.

@INTRASERVERNET ok - thanks very much for that. As you say....kind of the same but im seeing the slow upload and download cross the vm and the hypervisor also....as i say ive not got anything pressing on there right now so i might try a complete rebuild of it....if that doesnt work ive got another dongle from a different manufacturer to try also...

@ComfySofa you can try my fix. It may work.

@INTRASERVERNET Im seeing the same issue on the host server also - so not sure (in proxmox) where i change that option. If the root hypervisor is slow then the vm is not going to change in speed.
