Main Deco floods Network with Broadcasts?

Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build20240716 rel.60900

Hello, my Name is Uwe!

I have a very strange Problem with my Deco P9 Mesh WLAN.

My Main Deco (connecdet via Netgear Switch to the router) with two Satelites, one connected with LAN to the same switch, on connecdet with powerline and WIFI, configured in AP Modus.

Sometimes (one Time in Weeks - it is not reproducible!) apparently floods the Main Deco my network so massive with Broadcasts, that the Router is no longer reachable (no Ping possible) the Internetconnection goes down.

I can see this on my Swicht, all LED's are flashing so fast that they are nearly shine continuously!

Then when i plug out the Main Deco, everything looks normal, Internetconnection for my LAN connecdet devices are back!!, the LED's on the Switch flashes normal!

When i plug in the Main Deco again, same behavior, all LED's shine on the Switch,the internet connection breaks down again!

Then i plug out the Power Cable for some seconds from the Main Deco, after a short while (when the Main Deco is finnished boodet) everything works normal again....for weeks!!

I have reboodet the Deco Network for couble Times, all Decos are on the last Firmware.

This behavior exist since round About a half year,before that everything worked normally for many months.

This behavior is very worrying because I have to access to device at home remotely.

Hope someone has an idea!

Thanx in advance!

BR

Uwe

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the model number of the network switch?

 I think it is very likely the Ethernet Backhaul between the main Deco and satellite P9 might trigger the loop detection on the switch.

Did it help if you adjust the network map a little bit, such as:

ISP router---switch---main Deco P9~~~~(powerline)~~satellite P9#1

                                                        ~~~~(powerline)~~satellite P9#2
Thank you very much and best regards.
Hello David,
thank you for your response!
The Switch is a Netgear ProSAFE GS108PE.
Thank for the recommendation to change the network map.
I try to disconnect the satellite 1 from LAN, that is a simple test wink
The thing is, the problem occurs very rarely and I can't reproduce it frown
Thank you!
BR
