Yes, tried that.

If you check the 2.4 and/or 5 Ghz boxes it adds 1 or 2 secured Guest Networks but the base, open and unsecured  " TP Guest" network does not disappear. It remains visible and open.

If I enable both, I end up with 3 visible guest networks - the 2 secured and the one TP Guest as unsecured. If I enable either the 2.4 or 5 Ghz, I get 1 secured and one TP Guest unsecured.

Reasons:

1) I live in a rural area and my only neighbour(barely within wireless signal reach) does not have a TP router. I am the Telus1683.

2) It was not present on my wireless access options before I set up the TP router. It appeared only after I went thru the setup of the AX1500. Same with the other 2 secured TP network (Test & TP) options.

I take it this is not normal. If I enable the secured guest options it should disappear?

Is it time to do a factory reset, start over and see if it persists?

No IoT's enabled and when I disable the 2 Guest options all that remains are.......

If I pull the power on the TP Router all I have is Telus1683.

Hi  @Mark_A,

In your case, you can compare the current WiFi settings with the WiFi list on the PC. Is there any difference? It may also be that the previous default WiFi has not been cleared. You can try to restart the PC for comparison.

For the guest network, you can open your guest network page, set the Wi-Fi password of the guest network, and check whether the guest network that requires a password can be searched on the PC?  If it can, it can be basically determined that the extra guest network should not be broadcasted by your router.

HA! All things are possible, when you look at things in terms of probability.

I went and checked with my neighbour............ we had a good laugh!

For his expected holiday guests he upgraded his internet and added a TP_Link modem and an open guest network to make it easy for people. He was setting it up the same time as I was setting up mine and was completely confused by the unknown LT_Link Guest networks that were appearing and disappearing - that I was creating. Where could they possibly be coming from????

Life, when you think you are in control - it lets you know that your not!

We now have 2 separate and working networks.
