Hello

I am not a technology expert and I am starting to learn about certain technological devices, I have a problem that I want to solve:
I have a modem provided by the company that gives me internet service and I have noticed that in the list of connected devices detected by apps like "Fing" there are more devices connected to my Wi-Fi than the ones I have, so I suspect that some neighbors are connecting to my Wifi.
What I want to ask you is if TP-Link "HomeShield" technology can prevent unknown devices from connecting to a Wi-Fi network and if those routers can be connected to a modem.

Thank you.

Here you can read in more details about HomeShield feature.

If you have any doubts that your wireless password is compromised you can set a new one.

Allowing/Blocking a device on your local network can be managed by the Access Control feature.

 Hi @Jiziuth ,

If the client list displays some unknown devices, please note the router identifies the connected devices through their hostname or MAC address (unique physical address). However, for privacy and security purposes, devices with iOS 14, Android 10, Windows 10, and later versions have released a new feature called Private Address or Random Address, which will use a random and unrecognizable MAC address to connect to the Deco network. In this case, the Deco system cannot identify them and will display them as unknown devices. Please follow the below suggestions to avoid this problem:
1, Disable the Private Address or Random Address feature on the client devices.
2. Rename the unknown devices on the Deco/Tether App.
3. Block the truly unknown devices.
For detailed instructions, please visit this link:
Why is a device displayed as an unknown device on the Deco app?
