Archer VR2100v no laptop has internet, everything else does
Hello,
my old no-brand DSL model gave up after years. I have TP-Link repeaters that worked well, so I got the TP-Link Archer VR2100v on Amazon vom TP-Link. It worked for a few weeks, before the following problem arose.
Smartphones, TV, etc continue to have internet. Yet, various laptops with different security measures cannot access the wifi. Both the ISP and my other devices show that there is internet. I tried the TP-Link hotline, but some very grumpy guy told me that my issue is impossible. Following his and online advice I changed the DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, which does nothing. I further checked:
- TP Link hotline said, I should check whether I have DS-Lite: I do not have DS-Lite
- TP Link hotline said I should change the useage mode to WLAN router, but that does not work. Nothing has internet after that, which sort of seems obvious to me, so I do not understand why he would suggest that.
- I switched off/on the modem firewall
- I switched child protection on/off
- I changed frequency and frequendy width
- There was a little interference to being with, but even without interference the problem persists
- I changed the encryption.
- I reconfigured the modem from scratch several times
- I switched QoS off/on
- Restarted the device 200x
- Resetted the device 20x by unpluggin the cables.
A few weeks ago I switched smart connect off and then wifi worked for 2-3 weeks. All devices could connect to both wireless networks. Yet, the same issue appeared again last week.
Any advice on how to figure this out?
Best,
Christoph
