hi
any idea how i can boost it up from within the original software, or eventually could you recomend diffrent build to try out (need fully functional web access, dont like to mess via telnet unless its short commands ;) )
the problem is, while i know its cpu is to slow, and quite occupied, my speed on writing/reading are quite terrible sometimes. for eg. now it does transfer with only 550 kb/s, other day its 1mb/s. sometimes higher, but very rarelly. traffic/usage is about the same at the times im putting some stuff via ftp on it, so i can access it later as a media center. if it would stay at about 1mb or higher i think i would be happy.
reading is about 2 times higher, but not always, and ussualy when it drops to speeds like i have now, ive got lots of buffering, which basically elimitates its purpouse as a media center.
p.s. ive got full transfer (meaning lot higher) when i connect hdd to my pc, so its not caddy.
