Maybe it is DLNA compatibility issue.

C5, C7 V2 and C8 etc. improved the compatibility with DLNA devices and enhanced the overall performance. That's all I know.

I have a c7 and still cannot FF via my Samsung H6500 TV, I assumed it was the TV fw since ff works fine via phone & tablet, Samsung say their fw is fine, due to this and the 3000 file limit I find the in built media server next to useless.

I think a third-party firmware such as openwrt_(barrier breaker) would be an alternative. But just for this DLNA function.. I am not sure you will like it as a whole.

I know that TP-link doesn't have full DLNA certification. Manufacturer provides 100% compatibility with Windows Media Player.
