Model: Archer GE800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.5 Build 20240919 rel.58889(4555)

Hello, we recently purchased the Archer GE800 along with about 4 extender devices around 2-3 weeks ago. The router began randomly restarting and stopping around a day or two after setting it up, and we thought it could be an issue with system updates; but nothing that was tweaked in the software fixed it. The issue persisted for about a week until we just factory reset the modem along with giving it better cooling ensuring it doesn't overheat. Everything was fine for a week until today, the issue had randomly sprung back. The connection would randomly stop and restart every few minutes; and it was incredibly frustrating. We changed the power supply, nothing happened. We factory reset it yet again, painstakingly setting up everything all over and yet its still restarting randomly.

Are there any known solutions? Is this device possibly defective? Please let me know. Also, the internet provider itself has no issues, so its certainly a problem with this device.

@BP_Link

Thank you for posting the issue in the community.

Could you please provide the model number of the 4 extenders? How are they connected to the GE800? Please try temporarily removing them from the network and monitor if the connectivity will become stable.

When you observe the system is restarted, how about the LED status on the GE800? Are the client devices still detecting the wireless signal of the GE800? Can they connect to it?

I'll try to turn the EazyMesh off and see, my family wont be happy though LOL

Regarding your questions here are my answers:

Could you please provide the model number of the 4 extenders? How are they connected to the GE800?

Well im using the the folowing as sattelites in EasyMesh:

  • Archer AX55 Pro Wireless Router
  • RE815XE
  • and 3 RE715X

When you observe the system is restarted, how about the LED status on the GE800?

when the system restarts the LED's turn red and the WiFi nework is detected but the LAN network gose away till the device restarts its making me go crazy.

Are the client devices still detecting the wireless signal of the GE800?

Yes all devices are detect the signalbut it could be the extenders, not really sure.

Can they connect to it?

They coneect then drop and if they connect no internet accsses at all and  FYI the ISP modem is fine and has internet.

I hope this can help in finding a sulotion this is so frustrating for the aamount of time stress and mony invested in this.

Thank you very much for the detailed information.

Please monitor the router's stability after disabling EasyMesh. We understand that you need EasyMesh to function properly with your multiple extenders, and we will do our best to find a solution as soon as possible.

One more question: how does the GE800 recover the connection? Do you need to power it off and on, or does it eventually restart on its own?

Hello, i haven't tried turning easymesh off but we will try tomorrow. However, the network has been somewhat stable since the original post. It's really odd since we previously had a different router brand with little to no issues, so it's probably not an exterior factor. Everything shuts off, even the LAN; so it's not strictly a wifi problem.

As for your question, the router reboots by itself eventually turning back on; but it continues this loop a few minutes after. It happens randomly and fixes randomly.

Yes, very weird.

Please disable EasyMesh on the GE800 and monitor the connectivity for a day or two. Then, re-enable EasyMesh and reconnect only the Archer AX55 Pro to the network, monitoring for another day to check for stability. We need to determine if adding a specific extender causes random reboots.
