@Mastesgt21 So you have the router connected on another. router? Interesting that it works, however I'm using the Archer as a single router here, I just got it to upgrade from the ISP's router, so a firmware fix would be a better bet.

Ive just bought the exact same router as it seems this is only wifi 7 router thats works as it should with a ps5 pro, ive just bought a month sub from surf shark to test out the vpn, can connect to all servers but as soon as i connect a device the active VPN seems to act as blocker and cant access the internet.

Current firmware is

Firmware Version

1.1.2 Build 20241125 rel.12918(4555) and not sure if i should test the beta any news from TP link on this with any fixes

@Mastesgt21 Thanks for sharing your workaround and I'm glad to hear that works.

You can also try the provided beta firmware in this thread to check if the VPN also works:

Hi, I have a similar issue on the BE900. I added NordVPN as a VPN client, it says connected but it never changes the ip of the client device.

I tried WireGuard and OpenVPN, tried multiple different servers, it says connected but the ip never changes to the vpn.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are you saying the client devices are still using the internet connection on the BE900 but not using the VPN connection even though it connects to the VPN Server fine? Please check whether the traffic is passing through the VPN tunnel by visiting whatismyip.com while connected to the VPN. This site will display your public IP address. If your traffic is successfully routed through the VPN, the IP address shown should be different from your original IP address.

If you're still seeing your original location, please ensure that the correct MAC address is selected when adding the device to the VPN Client device list. Sometimes, there are multiple adapters or different MAC addresses on the client device and you may not be selecting the right one.

Hi  @Kevin_Z ,

I also made separate report about this topic here.

Yes that's right, whatismyip shows the original country instead of the vpn server.

I double-checked the mac address, and I turned off the "Private Wi-Fi Address" since it's a mac, to make sure it has the same mac address as listed in the router, and whatismyip still shows the original country.
