Hi!

I would like to know if there is a problem if I only connect one of the two external antennas instead of both. I don't know if the equipment detects that there is only one antenna connected and overrides the other antenna input, because if it doesn't, it could cause some problem.

Thank you very much.

Regards

  @James1qaz I was interested by this question so I've just tried it out on mine. Here are my findings:

BOTH PLUGGED IN - Connected to N78 (5G) and B3 (4G) networks

BOTTOM ONLY - Only connected to B3 (4G) network

TOP ONLY - Connected to N78 (5G) and B3 (4G) networks

So it looks like you might be alright with a single connection but make sure you pluig it in the top connector as that appears to still work as normal with 5G (on mine at least!)

Below is a screenshot (with a meaningless speed test) that shows it was connected to both 5G and 4G networks with just the top antenna plugged in. Of course my antenna is obviously different to yours so I can't guarantee they're wired the same way/similar but I hope this helps!

  @Sarukatka

Sure, it's a Poynting XPOL-2-5G I got from Amazon: https://amzn.to/4fWqMmK

I should also mention that after changing to the Deco router and it's different chipset my signal strength has gone from 3 bars (on the Archer X200) to 5 full bars:

It's hard to say of the speed in real life is different or not as the Archer was so unreliable I could never be sure I was getting the best speeds.

I'm currently getting about 60-70Mbps down and about 15Mbps up on an NR5G connection. Not amazing but I am very far away from the mast.
