Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have some Deco M4 units around my home, which give me WiFi in all the right places, even 25m in the garden.

I'm moving to a new house with a 50m garden.

I'm planning on putting something right at the bottom and wired back haul to the rest of the house but I'm wondering what to Replace my M4s with if at all?

I'm sure the Deco M4s are WiFi 5?

I have a 1Gb connection, which I think the Decos can handle?

Now WiFi 7 is out, should I just forget about WiFi 6?

I was thinking of replacing the Deco M4 units with Eero so I can add more Eeros as I go - I currently have a free Eero 6e unit from my last ISP, which is what got me interested but I see they lock a fair amount behind a subscription.

The other thought was Asus XT8.

I know the XT9 is out but most reviews say it only adds 160mhz, which I'm not sure I'll really utilise?

But the Asus only let's you add 2 units and that's it.

The XT8s are half price at the moment, so pretry good value.

Any advice on what I should do?

Stick with the M4s? Or grab something else TP Link or jump ship completely?

I upgraded from M9plus to Deco X60 V3.2, very impressed with the X60 performance, I also purchased an Asus XT8 after reading all the XT8 reviews however I returned the XT8 straight away as the X60 totally out performed the XT8.

If you want to fiddle and change settings on your network/wi-fi then the XT8 has many settings that can be changed whereas the X60 is more of a plug and play device. Personal preference I guess.

BT Full fibre 500, 1x X60 V3.2 in router mode and 1 x XE75Pro V2.
