Model: Archer C80
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.14.0 Build 240617 Rel.39521n(5553)

Hi,

I have a TP-Link Archer C80 router which approx. since last 2 months intermittently stops working. The light on the router remains green but no device is able to connect to the wifi and device which are connected over Ethernet are also not able to access the router web ui page so i can check the settings or download logs. I have tried factory reset but it didn't helped.

Although not 100% certain but I think it started happening after firmware update which i did few days before i started seeing this issue. Prior to the upgrade the router worked perfectly without any issues.

When the issue occurs the only solution is to poweroff and power on the router from the switch at the back of the router. Please help as I work from home and while i'm on calls, the issue causes the calls to drop.

Device Details:

Firmware Version: 1.14.0 Build 240617 Rel.39521n(5553)

Hardware Version: Archer C80 2.20

Variant: Archer C80 (IN)

ISP: Local provider

Connection Type: PPPoE

Logs (Although I can't download logs from UI when the issue happens as I can't get into the web UI but this is the log i collected after restarting the device)

Re:Archer C80 - Router stops working intermittently and won't allow connection over wifi or ethernet.

  @Prasenjit

Hi, I too own an Archer C80 (EU version) 2.20 / 1.13.15 Build 240812 but I use it for WDS function only (also have Archer AX73 main router) I would try to downgrade firmware if possible although some versions will not allow for security reasons then do a factory reset with the pin button on the back of router so make sure you have your ISP info to hand to put back in for internet. If your happy your router is working fine now you can make a fresh config back up using router backup/restore function or you can try to upgrade to latest firmware again to see if your issue has gone with clean setup....hope you understand.

  @Muffinman

Thank you for response.

I did considered downgrading the firmware once but looking at the change log/release notes, the current firmware version can't be downgraded.

Is there anything else which I can try?

Hi  @Koushik7788

May I know, what are the specific symptoms of your router? Is it that you cannot access the router's web UI at all?
If they are not exactly the same, please provide Device Details and more problem description details.

Hi @Koushik7788,

May I know, did you set access control for clients? When you access the router's web management interface, is the mobile phone or PC you use also one of the clients?

Regarding similar issues you and Prasenjit have, we may release beta firmware in the near future to try to solve the problem.

Hi, I've been facing the same issue, Firmware is latest, router is barely a few months old, it was all fine until last month when somehow software updated probably over internet automatically and it randomly gives issues. Ping suffers, Won't be able to connect to Wifi it'll give device limit issues when none of the devices will be connected, 192.168.0.1 won't connect when Internet issues arise, checked with ISP as well, router often isn't reachable from their end during these issues. Connection light though is always green. 2.4 is kept to 20mhz and 5ghz is kept to 40mhz as recommended by tplink support. but still issue exists. It's annoying as due to bad ping SSH connections drop while working.
