Hi All,

I have recently bought a new TP Link AX55 router as our other one has been getting pretty old.

I have however found that, despite having a stable connection and downloads/video streaming has been great, any time I try to launch an online game such as Valorant I am met with ridiculously high ping and packet loss making things unplayable.

May anyone assist in any troubleshooting or potential fixes that may help resolve these issues?

Would a factory reset help at all?

Screenshots below show current settings, DNS has been set as per my ISP's instructions when setting up a new router:

Hi@amca

For High ping issue, please try the suggestions:

What can I do if I get high ping?

For packet loss, please try:

1. Check Your Connection:
Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi for more stability.
Restart your modem/router.
2. Reduce Network Load:
Limit the number of devices connected to your network.
Pause large downloads or streaming on other devices.
3. Choose a Closer Server:
If you're gaming or using a specific application, select a server closer to your geographic location.
4. Update firmware:
Ensure your modem and router are up-to-date and capable of handling your internet speed.
5. Monitor Network Performance:
Use tools like PingPlotter or WinMTR to diagnose issues and track ping and packet loss over time.

If the above suggestions cannot help you solve your issue, please contact us with the following information.

    1.    The results of the above Suggestions

    2.    The screenshot of ping test when trying to ping the public IP address on the router and ping LAN IP address of TP-Link router on your computers.

    3.    Brand name, system version of client devices which have high ping value.

    4.    Model number, hardware version and firmware version of TP-Link router.
