I bought an Archer TX20U Plus just a few hours ago, and I can't turn on the 5G hotspot.

The 2.4G hotspot works easily, but not the 5G. I have the latest drivers from the website, I’ve tried changing a lot of settings in Device Manager, and I even disabled 2.4G through Device Manager.

I can connect to 5G, the router supports 5G, but the 5G hotspot doesn't work—it just says 'Unable to set up mobile hotspotI bought an Archer TX20U Plus just a few hours ago, and I can't turn on the 5G hotspot. The 2.4G hotspot works easily, but not the 5G.

I have the latest drivers from the website, I’ve tried changing a lot of settings in Device Manager, and I even disabled 2.4G through Device Manager. I can connect to 5G, the router supports 5G, but the 5G hotspot doesn't work—it just says 'Unable to set up mobile hotspot'

5G works with the Archer T4U, but the hotspot turns off from time to time, and it's hard to get it back, and I had to change a setting for the wireless mode to 'auto.' However, the Archer TX20U Plus doesn't have this option.

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Do you plan to use the Archer TX20U Plus hotspot to share the WiFi, Ethernet Connection, or Cellular connection on the computer?

-If it is a WiFi connection, It is suggested to check the current wireless channel on the host router, certain channels are not supported to be used for mobile hotspot, such as:

If it is to share the Ethernet connection, it is suggested to try the following suggestions:

1. Use "Command Prompt" to Set the Frequency

Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Start the hotspot with:netsh wlan start hostednetwork; Set the hotspot frequency to 5GHz:netsh wlan set hostednetwork band=5

2. Under Device Manager>Properties>Advanced, set the Preferred Band to "5G First".
