Model: RE650
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

So, I bought the RE650 last year and was working fine, this week it started to cause a disconnection to my router, let me explain the problem briefly:

1- When 15 - 30 minutes is passed since turning it on, the extender stops from working and show me the "Connected without internet" thing.

2- As soon as it shows me this message, the 2.4 and 5 LED turns off and only the last LED is on.

3- When this happens my main router is disconnected.

4- After my main router reconnect, 2 - 5 minutes then the whole process is repeated, except that in step 1 it will be 2 - 5 minutes instead of 15 - 30 minutes if I didn't turn it off/reset it.

Looks normal since the main router is disconnected right? Well, all of this won't happen if the extender re650 is turned off, it only happens when it's on.

The extender is up-to-date by the way.

Had same issue and after suffering with many failed attempts, this is how i fixed it:

1. Through the Tether app in your set, connect to your TP link device and set up an automatic shutdown during the night. If your issues is caused from using too many resources, shutting down at night helps the booster reset.

2. Login to your main router and assign a dedicated static IP for your booster. My main router had dynamic IP and my booster failed to reconnect, which was fixed from the manual reset. The dedicated IP fixed this issue.

This is what worked for me.

Hi,

Thanks for posting on TP-Link Community.

Did you manually reboot the main router to let it work again?

The abnormal LED lights on the RE mean it is disconnecting from the main router. Please set fixed channels for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on your main router.

Yes I reset it manually using a pin to press the reset button for about 3 seconds. I'm sorry I didn't really understand the second half of your reply, but my RE is already paired with my main router 2.4&5GHz and all the LED is on. How can I set a fixed channels for 2.4&5GHz? I don't know much about these topics...
