M7200 and volvo still has a problem with WiFi WPA2 AES
The ones proposed on this forum did not work for my Volvo XC60 II (2021, mild hybrid). Yesterday I bought a TP-Link M7200 V3.0 router in Poland, in the official Media Markt sales network. The router has the latest software 3.0.8 Build 231007 Rel.2n, which blocks the installation of other software versions. Following Volvo's recommendations, I also turned off WPS. I have enabled the WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK AES security type. I don't have the option to choose only WPA2 AES. I can only choose auto and unsecured mode. The car's system recognizes the security set in this way (AES) in the TP-Link device as WPA TKIP and does not allow connection to the network.
None of the advice from this forum has helped so far, I have the current software and the system does not allow me to install anything else, the iPhone 14 pro and the Finevu GX1000cld dashcam connect without any problems with M7200. The Volvo modem works properly - it connects to the Internet after inserting the SIM card or via a hotspot shared by the smartphone. I don't want to use the built-in Volvo modem as an internet source, because there is no power backup and when the car is locked, the Internet is turned off. And I want to have the Internet available to the car's system to use its full features automatically without having to share the hotspot from the smartphone every time. 24/7 access to the network is necessary for the operation of other devices additionally installed in the car, so the car cannot be a hotspot. Can you do anything about it?
