Hi all,

recently purchased a TP-Link router in Greece.

It is an

AC 1200 Wireless Dual Band Router

Model No. Archer C50

Firmware Version:0.9.1 0.2 v0093.0 Build 190125 Rel.63783n(4555)

Hardware Version: Archer C50 v4 00000002

The sticker on the back of the router states Model Archer C50 (EU) Ver 4.20

Online it was catalogued as a router that supports VPN.

When i received and tried to use i realised that this was not the case s I looked into upgrading my firmware to solve the issue.

I tried to install firmware both from manufacturer and DD-WRT, but I keep receiving error messages.

4503 from manufacturer and 71211 from DD-WRT.

I am choosing EU firmware upgrades, but from what I read the 4503 error message usually means region conflict?

I am confused, but no matter what I try I have not yet managed to upgrade the firmware at all.

Can someone help me understand what is going on? And what I can do?

  @George277

Hi,

Please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty.

After you download the firmware from TP-Link official webpage, please unzip the file and use the .bin file to upgrade.

If upgrading directly to the latest firmware is unsuccessful, you can first upgrade to the intermediate version and then upgrade to the latest one.

  @Sunshine

I have tried to upgrade the firmware from the local TP-Link official website but I am always receiving the 4203 error message.

Tried different versions but the result is always the same.

I also tried different locations (rather than EU) such as US and IL and the error message is still the same.

I am confused, as I  am receiving the same error message - 4203 - when I am trying to install the correct region version from TP-Link official website and when I tried to install the wrong region firmware upgrade?
