Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

I am experiencing an issue with my TP-Link Deco X50 5G router, where my entire home network slows down significantly when my Windows 11 PC is connected.

It happens both over Wi-Fi and the onboard LAN adapter on the PC. It makes no difference whether the PC is connected via WLAN or LAN; the issue persists on both connections.

When the Windows 11 PC attempts to load a webpage, all other devices in the network are also unable to access the internet properly. The webpage on the PC loads very slowly, and during that time, other devices can barely load any webpages or connect to online services.

What I have tried so far:

  1. Verified that the problem does not occur when the PC is connected to a mobile hotspot.
  2. Set up a static IP address for the Windows 11 PC and tried different DNS settings, including Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).
  3. Updated both the router's firmware and network adapter drivers on the PC.
  4. Disabled IPv6 on the PC and checked for unusual network traffic, which does not seem to show any high bandwidth usage.
  5. Ensured QoS is properly configured and tried different Wi-Fi channels.

The issue persists, and only seems to occur when the PC is connected to the TP-Link Deco X50 5G router. The problem does not occur when I connect the same PC to the internet via a mobile hotspot. I used a FritzBox as a Wlan Router in the flat I lived and there where no problems with the windows 11 PC.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with this router, or does anyone have suggestions for further troubleshooting?

  @MAEI1

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

If this Windows 11 PC is no longer connected to the Deco X50-5G, would the rest of the devices work well?

Are you able to constantly reproduce this issue with the Windows 11 PC?

- If yes, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the system and driver information of the laptop, for example:

How to check driver version of TP-Link adapters and system information of your computer

By the way, May I know who your SIM carrier is?

- Did you use a similar SIM card on the mobile phone?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  Hi @David-TP !!

Thanks for you reply. I will provide the informations to the mentioned email. This happens on both WIndows 11 systems (Intel i9 & AMD Ryzan). The other devices in the network (Amazon Firestick, Redmi Note 10 5g are working fine when the windows 11 are disconnected).

- the SIM carrier is o2 (germany)

- I tested with the same SIM Card in my Redmi Note 10 5 g as hotspot and there are no issues with the windows 11 PCs. Thats what confuses me so much. I also reinstalled on windows 11 pc.

Again, I will try to provide all inforamtions to the email you mentioned.

Thanks again for your help!

  @David-TP

I have a "stupid" question. When I reset my X50 5G router and start the configuration, my SIM carrier (O2 Germany) is not on the list (like e.g. E-Plus, Vodafone, and so on). So, I have to select the last option and manually fill out the form for APN settings.

In the first section, there’s an option to select "IPv4," "IPv6," or "IPv4 & IPv6." Until now, I always stuck with the preselected value "IPv4." Today, I reset my router again and selected "IPv4 & IPv6," and now it seems that I no longer have issues with my Windows 11 machines. Can you confirm if this was indeed the problem?

I think there should be some guidance for users who need to manually fill out the APN settings, or maybe I overlooked something.

It would be great if this was the solution.

Best regards,
Matthias
