The range extender has been set up successfully. All 4 LEDs show solid blue and internet access works for devices plugged in to the extender via ethernet cable. In addition, I can log in to the extender using the Tether app on my iPhone and all appears to be normal.

However, I am unable to join the extended network (which is named <myroutername>_EXT) using the WiFi settings on the same iPhone. I keep getting an error message that the password for the the extended network is incorrect. However, I can see in the WiFi settings that the password that is set for the extended network is the same password as for my main network, which I have no problem joining. I have carefully entered the same password umpteen times in an attempt to join the extended network without success, i.e., this is not due to a mistyping problem.

Hi,

Please reboot the range extender and the main router.

Can the iPhone connect to the host network normally?

You can also forget the network and try to connect again.

  @Sunshine

Thank you for your response. I performed the following steps:

1. Reset the range extender to factory default settings and then unplugged it from the power outlet.

2. Rebooted the main router. Plugged the range extender into a power outlet near the main router.

3. Paired the range extender with the router and verified that all 4 LEDs were lit solid blue.

4. Verified that my iPhone could connect to the main WiFi network.

5. Tried to connect my iPhone to the extended network via WiFi.

I encountered the same issue: Error message saying that the password for the extended network was incorrect. Looking at the info in WiFi settings for the extended network, I can see that the password that is configured for it is the same as the password for the main network.

What's odd is that the Tether app on the same iPhone is able to connect to the range extender and manage it.
