Internet Drop frequently on AX55
Hi,
I recently set up a new home network using two AX55 routers (one set as Main Router the other one set as AP), plus 3 extenders RE315 AC1200 and I have frequent internet drops (sometimes every 15 mins).
Strange I cannot use any Internet Speed Test apps or websites, every single time I start testing the Internet drops.
I updated all network devices to the latest firmware, restarted many times, and even factory reset and reconfigured, but nothing worked.
Any advice or suggestions are welcome.
Thank you

Hi, thanks for posting question here.
May I confirm some information to undestand your situation better?
1. What is your exact network topology? Which router are your 3 RE315 connected to? Did you set same SSID for all these network devices?
2. Does the whole network drop internet? Or does it only happen on 2.4GHz/5GHz wifi band? How did you recover the internet connection?
3. How many clients do you have? Are thed wireless or wired? When the internet drops, are your wireless clients connected to wifi but no internet, or the case that even the wifi disconnects?
4.Who is your ISP? It is suggested to follow this guide to take common troubleshooting.
It is also suggested to contact local technical support for direct help.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.
May I confirm some information to undestand your situation better?
1. What is your exact network topology? Which router are your 3 RE315 connected to? Did you set the same SSID for all these network devices?
The typology is as follows:
- Internet Provider Modem —> Main router (AX55) on the ground floor —> switch through ethernet cable
- The secondary Router (AX550) on my mansard (second floor) connected to the main router through an ethernet cable.
- 1st RE315 extender is also in mansard connecter to the main router through ethernet cable, covering a sky terrace.
- 2nd RE315 extender in my yard, connected through 5GHz wi-fi band.
- 3rd one also wi-fi connected in the middle, 1st floor covers the bedrooms.
Yes, all are using the same SSID.
2. Does the whole network drop internet? Or does it only happen on 2.4GHz/5GHz wifi band? How did you recover the internet connection?
- Yes, the internet connection is dropping, not the wi-fi. all devices stay connected to the wi-fi but no internet connection. The recovery is automatic (I do nothing, no restart, or reconnect) in about 20-30 sec.
3. How many clients do you have? Are thed wireless or wired? When the internet drops, are your wireless clients connected to wifi but no internet, or the case that even the wifi disconnects?
- 17-20 clients, wired and wireless.
- depending on the clients, main clients as laptops, phones, remain connected to the wi-fi some secondary clients, like Google Chromecast are losing the wi-fi connection too.
4.Who is your ISP? It is suggested to follow this guide to take common troubleshooting.
- I’m from Romania and I have a local ISP, the main regional provider called Digi. In general, they’re offering a stable internet service, I use their 1Gbps package.
- I switched a couple of weeks back to TP-Link routers from a D-Link network, didn’t have this experience before, having the same ISP, modem, switch, all infrastructure, so I suspect that the TP-Link could be the cause.
- from your shared guide I could try to change the DNS and see some improvements.
It is also suggested to contact local technical support for direct help.
- I’ll do
Thank you

Hi, thanks for your update~
1. When the internet drops, is there any changes about the LEDs on main Archer AX55?
2. What is the Internet connection type that you chose on main Archer AX55? When the internet drops, it is suggested to connect PC to your ISP modem directly to check the Internet access. If the internet is stable on your PC, you may try MAC Clone.
3. May I confirm what is your original network topology before you replace D-Link network? I am a little confused about "I switched a couple of weeks back to TP-Link routers from a D-Link network" you mentioned, because now you are using 2 TP-Link router and 3 range extenders.
Thanks for your cooperation.
