Deco random disconnects
Hi,
So recently I have been having issues with my decos randomly disconnecting from each other without explanation. Usually, I have to turn off all of them one by one and then turn them back on to get them to reconnect; sometimes this does not work. I've heard that this could be due to the main deco being overloaded. What can I do to fix this issue?

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.
May I know how many Deco P9 units you have installed?
- Are they working in wireless router mode or Access Point mode?
- Is it mainly that one or two fixed remote Deco P9s frequently dropped out?
- Do you have many smart IOT devices(plugs/lights/switches) connected to the Deco Mesh?
It might be also caused by the Powerline Backhaul interference in the electric wiring system, like the high-power home appliances.
Best regards.

Hi,
Thanks for replying, I got 8 decos, with the main deco in access point mode. The last two days in the morning, all of the decos will lose connection and currently, turning them off and on again fixes the issue for the rest of the day. When it comes to smart devices, I have a ring camera and doorbell do those count?
Strangely, it's only recently been like this, usually, it's every once in a while but this started happening consistently after the recent firmware update. Could it be something to do with the latest firmware?

Hi, Thanks for the update.
The latest firmware 1.2.1 has mainly optimized the network security and it should cause any internet disconnection.
But when you are available, the 1.2.1 could be downgraded back to the 1.1.5 version via firmware recovery if needed: How to Downgrade Deco
Are all the 8 Deco P9 units connected by wifi and PLC backhaul? For most Deco models, we recommend up to 6 units in one Deco Mesh network.(How many Deco units can I add to my Deco mesh network?)
-Would it help improve the stability if we power off 2-3 Deco P9 units from the Mesh system?
thank you very much and best regards.

Yes, most of the Decos are connected using wifi or the PLC backhaul, with one exception as one is connected using an ethernet cable. I will test switching off some of them to see if that stabilises the network. Would using a network switch and connecting some of the decos to that switch eleviate some of the connectivity issues?

@JulieT66 I had the same problem on my PX50 when adding an ethernet backhaul to the mix, only solution was getting support to give me a custom firmware to disable PLC and wifi backhaul on the ethernet connected Deco. Only problem now is the wifi channel that Deco uses isn't the same as the other Deco units now but it stops the disconnections and red lights I had to manually reset every other night.

Hi, yes I have noticed the weird behaviour when using the ethernet backhaul. When rebooting the decos, the deco that is used to connect the other deco when using an ethernet backhaul, I have to first disconnect the ethernet cable, wait until the deco is connected, and then plug it back in. I believe that the decos use a connection hierarchy, being ethernet, PLC and then wifi. They really should have a check to ensure that the deco that is connecting to the other deco, is already connected to the mesh network.
